About Me

Since I was a little girl, I have been obsessed with clothing and fashion.  I didn't just dress my Barbies in cool clothes, I made their clothes.  Even my gigantic teddy bear (Footsy Bear was his name) rocked fly homemade vests and sneakers.  I started my blog after observing my husband's work on The Smackdab.  It seemed fun and worth a shot. What has evolved is a love for writing, or more so journaling of my thoughts, my inspirations, my latest finds, my obsessions...and so much more.  Pretty much this is a great outlet to discuss what is constantly rolling around in my already overwhelmed head.  And if you know anything about me, it is that I am bound to have an opinion.  This way I get it out and you have no choice but to listen.... unless you choose not to read.

I was raised in North Carolina, but have known for years that this would not be my permanent place of residency.  It never seemed quite right.  North Carolina is a beautiful state, and a place that I am proud of but I was just meant for the big city!  I thrive off the energy, the culture, the excitement.  I get bored easily and in a big city, there is always something to do.  I was lucky enough to fall madly in love with a fantastic man that not only shares my love for fabulous shoes (unfortunately also with hefty price tags), but also for the Big Apple.  After eloping to Italy and marrying in Florence, my husband and I relocated to NYC to begin our journey together.  We are home.

I have a love for vintage.  My favorite designers seem to rotate, but currently my heart has been divided between A.L.C., Rag & Bone, and Helmut Lang.  My shoes are high and occasionally my shirts are low, which sounds much more provocative than I actually am.  I love a fab find for pennies on the dollar...not only because I am currently unemployed, freelancing here and there, and job searching while living in one of the most expensive cities in the world, but because even if you have it, why pay more than you have to?  I can't seem to help my love for leather and fur, although I choose to just pretend that they never really came from animals.  N

My goal is to take you on a journey down fashion's Golden Zipped Road...which isn't really definable but is bound to be a fantastic path to follow.  So enjoy, let me know what you think, and allow yourself to be inspired.
